So what’s the big deal with ACG New York Middle Market Week? Plenty… For the first time, the New York Dealmaking community recognized, as an important group, middle market dealmaking professionals. Now, we have a week of our own with our peers to celebrate the successes of the past year and and look to future deals as we get ready to ring in 2018.
ACG New York Middle Market Week (MMW) all started with a simple mission: how can we attract national dealmakers to New York to attend MMW functions consisting of both networking and deal-generating events? And without a doubt the ACG New York Private Equity Wine Gala should be a key component of the MMW experience, with over 900 middle market professionals registered. Part of the special success of MMW was seeing a 15% increase in attendees traveling from beyond the Tri-State area to attend the PE Wine Gala this year. Throughout the week, professionals from all over America pursued the opportunity to strengthen their network and develop new connections at a variety of events.
Our initial thesis was right on the mark…create excitement in New York and dealmakers will come. Whether it was an opening network party sponsored by PKF O’Connor, all-day deal generation meetings sponsored by Plante Moran and Akerman LLP, an outstanding event hosted by Capital Roundtable, a Deals and Divas women’s panel and networking program, or a family office conference…our first MMW has set the foundation for even greater industry involvement next November 2018.
